Where is Christ Church?
Christ United Methodist Church is in the Southern Village community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Our address is 800 Market Street ~ Chapel Hill, NC 27516. You can always give us a call with more questions: 919.969.8820.
What time are your services?
Christ Church has four Sunday services: 8:30am praise and communion, 9:45 & 11am Traditional, and contemporary worship in the evening. During the summer (through August 19) our evening worship will be held at 7pm, with a free snack supper at 6:30 in Ascension Hall! Our normal Sunday evening service is held at 5:30pm during the school year.
What does Christ Church believe?
Christ United Methodist Church gathers in the name of Jesus Christ to worship God, and to seek, nurture, and send Christian disciples into the world. We are a part of the larger United Methodist Church. You can visit our website for more details about Christ Church!
Can I join the band?
We are always looking for new musical talents to join us in worship! Please contact Mary Day Saou for details on our different bands and how you might get involved!
What time is rehearsal?
The Many Mansions band rehearses on a monthly basis during the week, and always meets at 7:30am Sunday morning to run the songs for the 8:30am service. Wellspring practices on Tuesday nights at 6pm in the sanctuary, and they also run through the songs on Sunday evenings at 5:15 to prepare for the 7pm worship service.
What is this site?
1. We wanted an online presence for our worship bands, where anyone could go to find out lots more about our bands, who is in them, what we do, etc. Even beyond sharing what we are doing, we wanted to be able to build more of an online community with people who are interested in our contemporary worship services.
2. We wanted an online place where band members could get any information they needed about our materials, practices, and performances. No more digging through emails for file attachments or wondering if you have the most current copy of something -- it is always accurate here.
You should think of ChristChurchWorship.org as a compansion site to our church's main web site, http://ChristMethodist.org.
Does this site replace ChristMethodist.org?
Definitely not. This site is focused on contemporary worship services and music, and it actually links to and uses content dynamically from the main church web site.
